What's The Best Book For A Marketing Manager?

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
Hi all,

This is the first time I have gotten a job as a Sales & Marketing Manager for a beverage company.

I've done sales & marketing but I need input on how to become a good Sales & Marketing Manager.

Can anyone recommend me a good book that can basically guide me to fulfill this position well?

Thanks.

Will you be using the internet to promote your business? If you are can I suggest my book Internet marketing how to get a website that works for your business. It is about Internet marketing and websites but the principles in the book work well for offline marketing as well.

I have a profile of the book on my website at
    https://www.businessforbusiness.co.uk/book.htm

The book is also available from Amazon
    I hope this helps

    Kind regards

actually as a sales and marketing manager, the internet will only be one medium i will be using.

however in my line of sales, i think offline will be more important.

i am looking for a book that gives me the overall guide to being a good sales and marketing manager.

Management, Sales, and Marketing are three different topics, each with their own gurus and long list of books and seminars. It sounds like you were promoted because you know sales and marketing, so now you need to learn how to manage people and pass your sales and marketing knowledge on to them. Be aware that there are many ways to accomplish the goals and not everyone has to do it your way to be successful.

Start at a good business library if you want to start reading.

    I would read:

New Rules of Marketing by David Meerman Scott
    Permission Marketing by Seth Godin

And then subscribe to the following blogs:

    www.MarketingPilgrim.com
    www.ChrisBrogan.com
    www.WebInkNow.com
    https://Blog.HubSpot.com

In addition to reading everything on Marketing Profs, their stuff is great.
