Placement Of A Registered Trademark

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
My company has a registered trademark for our “Wave®” product. I have decided to put the ® on the lower right of the logo because it looks and reads better and have subscripted it whenever it appears in text. Our president has pointed out corrections to “fix the placement” on our data sheet in the text portion. I haven’t told him my reasoning, but is there a hard and fast rule that it must be superscripted?

I do not know of any standars and have seen it used as a supersciprt and inline.

If you really have a strong oppinion of how it should be print out examples from very well known companies that use the ® the way you would like to. Perhaps this will win him over.

Personally, I think it looks a little better if used as a smaller superscript.

    Hope this helps,

    Mike,
    Good idea.
Yes, I usually reduce the font so it doesn't look like the word "Waver".
