Need Help Developing My Target Market

Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points
I am in the start up phase of a new Virtual Assistant company called My Cyber Assistant.

My first thought is to target women small business owners in the Cincinnati Ohio area and then expand from there. Is this too narrow too broad? Any advice is appreciated.

I think it's very smart to focus on a niche. It will help with referrals, too.

However, I'm just not a fan of the word "cyber."

I like your target list. But, begin developing a way to push it out to a greater number of people after you have concluded your Cincinnati Launch

I think your niche is a perfect start. Spend some time with your marketing plan, and drill down, "how will you find and market to them". "what will you do for them" In doing so, you may find whether you want to refine your niche. You may find that your niche is woman business owners that are road warriers. Or you may find you totally understand realtors. Just because you start with a broad niche doesn't mean you have to stay with it. Sometimes the best research you can do is just getting out there and experiencing it.

Thanks for the responses. In reference to the Your vs My cyber assistant. I can see where it would be beneficial to be called Your Cyber Assistant. However, the .com was taken for Your Cyber Assistant. Also when the customer is taking about me they will say "My Cyber Assistant" inferring that they already working with me??
