Specialize. In a type of art, a location, etc. - anything to create a specific niche for your artwork. Ideally, enter art shows and collect some awards (to have independent validation that your art is wonderful). If your art is visual, a website (also, don't overlook selling your artwork as stock photos/videos).

I agree that we could be of more help if you were more specific.

From your screen name it looks like you do "dance photography" . If this is the case you need to partner with dance studios and places that dancers frequent. Perhaps you can do sessions for dance classes. If you trust your work do the session for free and make the money on the prints.

You can offer to do picture for some dance productions so that people start knowing of your service. Do this for free (or cost of prints) and make sure that people know you took the pictures.

You defintely will want to create a website that shows of your work and allows people to get in touch with you. If you do any of these sessions mentioned above, allow people to view their proofs online. Allow people to share these with others. This will allow you maximum exposure.

    Hi Everyone:

Thanks for your posts so far. You can see my work at www.markandrewimages.com. I am currently selling my work through a few fine art galleries. I am also doing some commercial dance work.

But what I am looking for is something that will catapult my career.
