    Hi, Vlad

Your method of contact will weigh heavily on "how often is too often." Drip marketing campaigns may work very well for some products/services (follow this link https://marketing.about.com/cs/directmarketing/a/dripmktg.htm). A lot will have to do with your budget as well.

Telephone contact I would keep to a minimum.
Direct mail monthly, quarterly can be very appropriate.
Birthdays and holiday greetings are very appropriate.

Special campaigns...you may do a mix where you mail, follow up mail, follow up call to ask for an appointment, calling to request referrals, etc. would be planned contacts that would vary per campaign and tested.

You'll want to develop some type of plan to keep your name in the front of your customers' minds without weakening the relationship.
