Romania-based Solid Wood Furniture E-store

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hello everybody, I am a Romanian copywriter working on a solid-wood furniture online store account.
This is the first exclusively online Romanian store which sells furniture made exclusively from solid wood (as opposed to particleboard+venner type of furniture).

Audience: Romanians, aged 25-45;

-they prefer the classic style
-they are not trendy
-they don't like particleboard covered with veneer furniture
-they have a medium-high income (the US equivalent would be between 40,000 and 250,000 dollars per year)

The store will be launched in about a month and I need a simple and smart idea for a viral (preferably a mini website just for the viral campaign, but I am open to other less expensive suggestions--an amateur video for instance)

The only thing I could think of up to now is an amateur video with a half naked lover going into a solid wood closet, the husband enters the room, looks around, and the lover goes out of the closet screaming. There was a squirrel in the closet.

Any ideas?

    How does your video help to sell furniture? Maybe people will watch the video and pass it around, but the bottom line is will it generate sales?

    If you like using video, why not offer a contest? Have people submit 30sec "shorts", that must have a piece of wood furniture in it. Let the public vote, and winner gets money.

    I think your idea sounds very interesting. I was also thinking of a contest, but of pictures, not videos.

    Also, I am in the process of conceiving an online game (inspired from Xboxpaperplane.com). Furniture pieces are being used to make a big campfire which is roasting a pig. At 3 pigs roasted the user gets an online coupon for 20 percent off at our online store. The catch of the game is that you can use two types of furniture (solid wood or veneered). The veneer burns with an ugly smoke, making it harder for the fire to grow, however, there more veneer pieces coming on the screen (on a lateral assembly line). So the player has to choose between using more veneer or wait for solid wood (which grows the fire more).

    I am still thinking of details for this game. Do you think it would be feasible, or would it turn out to be too expensive?

    Thank you very much
