Trying To Decide On A New Logo

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I was hoping to get some suggestions in a direction to head on our new logo. This is the logo I made about 8 years ago when the company first got started in my basement:

Obviously I know its time to update it. Im just not sure what direction to head in.

Do I modernize it like you see below?

Or should I completely wipe it out and start fresh? Is the whole thing antiquated? When I first started off it was fine, but now we are a multi million dollar company and I would like to portray that image. My only real reason for wanting to keep it the similar is maybe people have come to recognize us bye it.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Chris

Yes to your last thought - "wipe it out and start fresh? the whole thing is antiquated".

Since you are a multi-million dollar business you can afford a great graphic designer. Do some research to find a couple near you.

The goal is to have a complete graphics standards doc that shows how the new logo will be applied in different situations, e.g. large format like signing to small format business cards and avatars. Also ease of reproduction in both color and b/w, simple is usually better and maybe "highly stylised". Walk down aisles of your local supermarket and see how the major brand logo's have changes over the years (Quaker Oats).

Budget should be $7,500 to $15,000 as a ballpark range. It's a major long term investment in your brand.

    hope this helps
