for a long time now I have added certain ingrediants to an every day & every home table product. Everyone that has ever tried them really liked and always said I should market it. I have enough to start a line of different flavors. My question is how is the best way to do this and what is the law about mixing name brand items to make your own & labeling it. Or is there a way to sell your product to an existing company or label ? and what can be done to protect your rights to it, such as patent etc. ? Thanx, Mike.

Puru, thanx very much for your response, what I'm doing is taking one brand item and mixing another for a total different taste, sometimes a couple of different, at the most it may be up to three items going into the one, the one is always the same thing, this is actually more a suace than a dish. many have tried my different flavors and all have loved. lets say you take a brand name barbecue sauce and add some ingrediants to alter the flavor, that's the simple way of putting it. I have never tried anything like this at all before, so I know nothing, explaining it in as much layman terms as possible would really help! thanx, Mike.
