Strategy For Online Sale Of Eyewear

Posted by Anonymous on 500 Points
Hi,
I am creating a sub-domain in India for online sale of Eye Wear,Sunglasses included. The sub domain is of a European company that already sells all the Italian Fashion Brands Online.I will be in charge for all the activities related to India.
The sub-domain sells all the premium and other famous fashion brands. This is the first in India.
What are the strategies that I would need to adopt to start of with and the other strategies that would help me in the long run with relation to marketing, advertising and otherwise.
In short-How Can I Make This Work?
My apologies for the long question?
I would"nt mind if you mail me too.I will post the points even If i am emailed.
Regards,
Benny John

    hi GK,

thank you for your response...the company already features in most of the search engines....
my primary point hence would not be search engines-with relation to this being the premier of online sale-where and how would i need to market...
i was considering btl activities like fashion magazines and other journals featuring all the brands available for sale like GUCCIwish to mention the advantages that i have include,,
availability of all designer labels and models...
disadvantages which i feel are, the end customer cannot try and feel the product before use.intangible and the country is new to purchasing online...hope i am clear..
thank you yet again for your response....am waiting for other members to post too and then i will close the question..thanks

Borrow the sales model from Zappos.com. They provide lots of images of products, feedback from customers, free shipping to customer, and free shipping back to store. They've taken the risk out of the purchase. Buy it. Try it. Don't like it? Return it.

    hello Mr.Hamilton,

    Thank you for your response.
I will definitely have a look at Zappos. In the meanwhile with the immense population growth that India has to offer and since this being the pioneer company I am sure I will be able to tap the initial player advantage, however my real worry is consistency.
Most of the people as of now are so used to the tangibility factor on purchase and they might not accept my for of business.
I am waiting and dreaming of a solution which will be a definite hit and can drive immense potential traffic to my site and convert them to sale.
    Thanks again.

Create a review system for products you offer. Allow customers to review products. This is some thing that serach engines like and thus will give you better search ranking. I read your earlier response and think you really need to focus on getting the best organic position possible in all the search engines. When I go to order something on the internet I search for the product. You want to be in the top couple of positions and definitely on the first page. I do not usually look for the store/merchant first and then the product, but search for the product.

Have bloggers review some of your products and link back to you. Again this will help your search ranking.

    Hope this helps,
    Mike

Mikee pointed out seo as a method of for building traffic to your website. Google's own business model matches up with social marketing or social media optimization SMO.

I would develop a wordpress.com blog and then register with as many relevant social website as possible. These registrations will help build web presence for your brand and traffic to your site.

Click on my profile, then my site for a list of these sites.

    good luck,

    Steve
