how can I get the free company database from internet? i would like to get their contact info like marketing department. i know hoovers , yet its not a free source.
I have no idea how can i get those specific info and by what kind of method. pls kindly lemme know!

    Ok...if you're looking for massive data download it's not gonna happen.

    But if you search around you can find just about anything on the internet for free.

    Actually, lots of people ask for this so you can develop it from your hard work and then offer it for free for anyone who wants it.

    Actually I'm able to get the basic info from those company in hoovers. but i really have no idea of getting more specific contact like the contatc of marketing department.

    I don't mind to share with people if I hv ways to get those info.

    Lists are a valuable commodity. The only way to not pay for a list is to put the time in yourself. Phone up and ask. There won't be a live list for free and if there is it will be out of date - about 25% of a b2b list in an area like marketing changes year-on-year.

    If you have your own server:

    There is an open source program called SUGAR CRM.

    There is a free version that you can use as long as you have your own server, they'll give you a code, and an IT guy can take an hour or so to set it up.

    Hope this helps... it's free and seems to do the trick for a number of people...

    We have our own database but I can get pretty much any contact info from Hoovers, Million Dollar Directory, Harris, Manufacturer's Directory.

    Like I said it's a ton of work. it's just that, after I've spent hours/days getting the info it doesn't make sense to give it to someone for free.
