Driving Traffic To A Grand Opening Event

Posted by erin on 125 Points
One of our clients is a new state-of-the-art gun range. It's huge, environmentally friendly (believe it or not) and offers benefits that typical ranges do not offer. They want to have a grand opening event, however I am challenged in figuring out how to drive traffic to it on a minimal budget.

They have already opened and have a loyal base of customers and they have already received good PR in the local newspaper, so I don't know if we could get more (at least not right away). They can offer some incentives such as 1/2 price on shooting fees and whatnot. I'm just challenged with coming up with fresh ideas for a gun range to draw traffic to an event. Local event marketing is not my area of expertise... Any ideas would be helpful.

Thanks!

    There's those that already have some gun connection:
    * Boy Scouts (if you offer gun safety for kids classes)
    * Police / Security / Park Rangers
    * Hunting / Fishing Clubs
    * Farmers

    And those that don't:
    * Self-defense clubs
    * Corporate team building companies

    How about offering a free introductory lesson. Or a seminar on gun safety.
