New Marketing Ideas For Sporting Events

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
We deal in Athletic footwear and apparel. We sponsor many sporting events and the traditional marketing methods at these events have grown stale. Examples are event branding, competitions, promo girls, prize give-aways, air time from commentators etc etc.
There is a definate need to recapture the participants attention and retention who have grown bored of the old methods mentioned above.
What would you suggest to liven and freshen up your brand at this events. How would you capture the participants and spectators attention over the other presenting sponsors? This would have to occur within a given rather small budget.

    Katharine,
Yes, but have you developed a huge shoe costume and let spectators race while wearing them?

What you ultimately want are more sales, not more attention. Have you identified a specific niche that's under-served (very small or very large sizes, for example)? Can you start a conversation with these people and explain why your footwear and apparel is the best choice? Trying to shout over everyone else is likely to simply cause you (and your other shouters) to be ignored.
