Marketing Medical Transcription To Doctors

Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points
Hi,
I am a small medical transcription company targeting small to medium-sized physician practices. Through the years, I have tried cold calling, solicitation letters, advertising in the phone book, and placing ads in medical journals as marketing strategies to get more clients. I have signed up clients using these strategies but lately it has been really been challenging to find one. I am thinking about sending out newsletters with a business card attached to it as another marketing strategy or will it end up in the trash can? I am thinking of targeting about 500 physicians at a time. Where can I find good articles to put in my newsletter? Any suggestions where to find these articles and what will be a good topic? I also need help with low-cost newsletter design. I am kind of in a tight budget.

Thanks much! Any input will be appreciated.

Build up a PILE of referral letters.

The secret to this technique is that MDs (or their office managers, most likely) are usually so busy that you'll have to keep reminding them to write your letter and make a nuisance of yourself. WRITE THEM YOURSELF ! Either e-mail them or hand the person a nice thumb drive. Tell them that if they agree with the content, simply paste it on their letterhead and print. If they don't agree with your glowing prose, tell them to feel free to edit.

Pick a likely office and FedEx the PILE of letters along with a cover that offers a "Free Trial" of your services (pick a period of time or a dollar volume that you can live with). Get the office manager's name (social engineering techniques) and put their name on the envelope. Tell them in your letter that you'll follow up with a personal visit in a couple of days. Don't even wait as long as a week to drop by, you want your package to be fresh on their minds.

OBVIOUSLY, your first targets will be large offices that have many physicians under one roof that use a common transcibing service More bang for the buck.

If and when you work your way down to offices that have but one physician, change your strategy to one that is more appropriate (cost and time wise).

Marketing is ALWAYS a numbers game...

    Good Luck !
