Planning Fan Pages - Looking Ahead

I am getting ready to set up a fan page on Facebook for one of our services as a "toe in the water" for our organization. If there is success with this page, we would plan to put other pages up for 1 or 2 other services.

Because there may be additions beyond the initial fan page, I wanted to do the initial set up so we could build upon it. For example, have one account with several Fan pages - if that is possible. I am afraid that if we just set up this First page without thinking ahead, we will have a fractured presence on Facebook and an administrative nightmare in managing the pages.

Can anyone give me some insight on the best way to proceed?

Just an FYI... We have two Facebook seminars this week (12/16 & 12/17) with Facebook expert Jeff Widman. You might find them helpful and you'll be able to ask questions in the Q&A portion. :)

Dear Theresa,

I'm glad my contributions are of value.

I'm not sure if this applies to Facebook fan pages as well, but this is a quote from Facebook:

"Maintaining multiple accounts, regardless of the purpose, is a violation of Facebook’s Terms of Use. If you already have a personal account, then we cannot allow you to create business accounts for any reason. You can manage all the Pages and Socials Ads that you create on your personal account.

Please keep in mind that the fans of any of the Pages you administer will not have visibility or access to your personal account or profile. Any actions that you take as a Page administrator on your Page will show the Page’s name as the
actor and not your personal name."

I hope this helps but it may also need further investigation.
