I Have A Question About A Clothing Line.

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
I see that my question was partly answered. I have also have sketches drawn up for a clothing line put no idea on how to market them. I've asked 24 people I dont know what they look for in a clothing line. I got good feed back and I feel the way I went with my clothing line would work. So I was wondering when you say go to retailers and ask them about what they think, what do i ask them , so them ask them and where do I go to meet them? Thanks for taking the time to read this and have a great day thank you..

    Dear LanceRaiders,

I'm confused. Unless you've posted here under a different name
and from which you've received some form of feedback, what
question are you referring to and by whom was it partially answered?

And what kind of clothing line are you talking about? Who's it for?
Which occasions? Which budgets? Formal, informal, casual?

Until we know answers to these questions I'm not sure we can
give you the amount of detail you'd perhaps like.

    Dear Gary Bloomer,

Its a skater slash hip hop line. It's not too baggy so the ages could be from teens to late thirty's, basically anyone who likes that trend of skater slash hip hop. It'll probably be under the price of ecko and lrg cause Id like it too be more affordable but not cheap so i can keep quality. it'll be for everyday wear if I'm able to make it a success I would like to push a more dressy image of clothing line but that's in the future.. Thank you and happy New Years.

    thank you, Lance Caster

I would suggest you go get some training in designing and creating a line of clothing. Or hire a professional designer to help you bring your line to life. This is not an easy process you have to know how to pick fabric, find a reliable company or people to sew your line, price each item and develop operations to ship your line.

Once you have your samples made you need to market them. It is not very practical for you to just go around to local retailers you need to get some national exposure. There are tradeshows you can go to and you can get a showroom rep.

What troubles me is that you don't know all of this already and you are trying to launch a line. My suggestion is get some professional help.
