    Dear David,

The best way to make money with Twitter is to stop trying to make money with Twitter.

There are all kinds of people and guides that promise to make you rich via Twitter. But here's the thing: most people using Twitter are not in buying mode—they don't use Twitter to shop.

Most people using Twitter use it because they want to be social and if we equate social media with a typical party, if someone comes up to YOU at a party and immediately begins trying to sell you something, your overriding reaction will, I'm sure, be to move AWAY from that person.

Why? Because they're a pain in the ass!

Yes, there are indeed systems that will send out messages for you: auto follow is a big thing. But again, most people who are in receipt of an auto follow message swiftly UNFOLLOW the auto follower because that person is basically becoming another pain in the ass.

Bottom line here: the vast majority of people attempting to make money using Twitter fail because they go about selling in the wrong way.

Before anyone will buy from your they must feel, or be made to feel that they know you, like you, and trust you.

And in order to achieve this rapport, you must have something worth connecting over. OR, you must know enough about affiliate sales and have enough hungry buyers who know you and like you enough for them to go off in the direction you send them in.

But, if you are being paid any kind of commission for any affiliate sales made from any site to which you've driven traffic, the new FTC guidelines insist that you make this fact as clear as possible in some way, shape, or form.

Tempted to skip this compliance? Don't. I know of two of the top (and I mean, multi-million dollar per month players) who each got hosed by the Feds, and this was several years ago, WAY BEFORE the new regulations. So, comply. Or else.

Your best bet? Set up a blog within a niche. Drive traffic to that blog. Blog about your niche and get people to double opt-in. Build a list. Keep your list sweet and well looked after. Set up affiliate accounts with top purveyors within your niche. Be upfront with your audience about your commissions. Drive traffic to those affiliate sites, encourage sales based on VALUE and BENEFITS to your readers and, if you're lucky, and if you stick at it, a small percentage of those people MAY become your customers.

True, there's more to it than this and it's got a lot to do with who you know and who you've set up relationships with.

But, and this is important, when it comes to making money with social media, most people who believe it's the next gold rush are tilting at windmills.

Social media will not make you rich and if you're spending more than 30 minutes per day on social media you're burning daylight that will, I can guarantee you, be better invested in other aspects of Internet marketing.

The secret to making money online is simple: select a niche. Market to that niche with your SUPERIOR offers, authority status, and content. Build relationships based on masses of value and on bullet proof benefits. And don't take people for a ride.

What you've just read here is, if you apply it, a blueprint for a six figure per year business. All you have to do now is apply it. I hope this helps. Good luck.
