Credit Card Clearinghouse

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
Received a mailer from CC issuing bank, advising me of a rate increase. Listed an inbound 800-number for questions or rejection of the rate increase. I think this may be the "call-to-action."

Upon calling in I was told that my rejection of the rate increase would constitute my cancelling the card. Nowhere in original letter was I advised of this.

Now, can the response to that call to action be factored into overall response rates when the bank recruits and sells its record of success to affinity marketers.

RESPONSES

To me, yes. Poor handling of a response does not change the math.

If I get 3% from a mailing and 10% of that 3% call to tell me to jump in a lake, it's still a response.

I'm more worried about the 97% who DIDNT call...because I paid for 100%
