How Do You Track The Effectiveness Ofyour Campaign

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
Thought I’d open this up to the masses.

I was just wondering what reputation management tools everyone is using to track their social media campaigns. I’ve been shopping around and getting advice, but I was curious to see what people thought of the programs that they’re currently using.

I’ve had several people recommend Radian6 and Scoutlabs, but both are quite expensive. I’ve also heard some fairly good things about Trackur and Trendrr in passing, but haven’t met anyone who use them yet.

I’m looking for something more analytical than the likes of Google Alerts and TweetDeck, but don’t have a huge budget.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

    Dear Josh,

This article might help you: https://mashable.com/2009/04/19/social-media-analytics/.

You might also want to figure out what it is you want to measure.
Clicks and traffic are fine things to have, but do they make the stuff sell? Is any number that's not connected to a sale worth measuring?

Some might say no, it's not. One free method of tracking that's effective is to use the custom url feature on the www.bitly.com website. If you customize each link it's possible to then track number of clicks, # of views, and so on.

A little crude? Yes. But free. Again, figure out why you're tracking and what you're tracking and then apply sales information to it to get a handle on costs per sale, costs per impression, and costs per campaign.

    I hope this helps.
