Online Prizes/incentives That Work Worldwide.

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I'm about to launch an initiative that uses twitter to encourage educators to suggest awesome digital ed resources to be added to our product (nettrekker.com). On a weekly basis I'll be drawing a winner. What should the prize be? Originally, I was thinking a $10 iTunes e-giftcard. What other options might appeal, and be redeemable around the globe?

If you are targeting educators, I would suggest an Amazon.com gift certificate that they can use towards their next purchase at amazon.com

    Kirsty,
I wish I could say that nobody steals songs and that iTunes would work, but it might not be the draw we would like it to be.

Apple does have a good share of the ed market. I haven't checked if they have "app points" that you could buy.

You said global but based on where you are you can do Starbucks (I would do White Castle gift cards personally!) or Dunkin Donuts.

Maybe you could give them a choice. I don't have any use for iTunes and probably never will.

You have a great approach - universality - a gift that can be used by anyone, anywhere, and that will appeal to the masses.

iTunes is great, so are debit cards from VISA, MC and AMEX gift checks. If you do a Google search on "stored value cards" the industry term for these, you will find many options. You can start at https://www.nbpca.com/

You can "gift" anyone with an email address through Paypal. Paypal accounts are free. Then they could shop online at a variety of shops that accept Paypal.
