This Is So Boring !

Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points

Here's our FB Fan Page
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Knowledge-Notebook/326611573872?v=wall&r...

I find it average, it does not stand out. It fails to answer two fundamental questions:
a) why am I here (on this fan page);
not too clear.
b) what do I get (from this page);
not much.
Then why do I want to become your fan?

It's been up for 3 days and not created by me but I take the responsibility for its under par performance, after all, I failed to provide direction and strategy prior to its creation.

What's your thoughts? Is MP and this forum the right place for this question?

Thank you as always.

Don

    Dear donli,

    You tell people "Knowledge Notebook is a great addition to your study routine!"

    And?

    Is that it? What else does it do, for whom, when, where, how? How does this thing improve people's lives? Tell people.

    One of the posts near the top of the list says "Knowledge Notebook Visit our website at https://www.knowledgenotebook.com/"

    OK. Now, give me a REASON to visit your site. Why would I care about your site? What's in it for me?

    You also must, must, MUST get people to contribute to your string of narrative. Ask people questions. Get them involved. Make them LOVE you.

    And the logo you've go? It's nice but what about giving the character a name, a personality, and some degree of life? Tell stories, make videos, offer podcasts, create interaction, and offer people reasons to become a fan.

    I hope this helps.

    Gary,

    I agree 100% and you can feel my sentiment in my OP as well.

    Thanks.

    What's missing is a benefit. WHY should anyone care about this product? What's in it for them?

    MP is the right place for this kind of question, but the question isn't clear. Are you asking what you can/should do to manage the process better? Or are you asking if Facebook is even a good place to promote your product? Or are you asking for a marketing project to "fix this fast?" Or are you looking for support when you fire the people who did this without giving you a vote?

    Your page isn't remarkable enough to have people tell others about it. Give people a key reason that matters to not just visit the page, but tell others, and sign up to be a fan.

    Jay,

    You're EXACTLY right. Initially I thought the college kids knew better about FB fan page and stuff ... let them do it...
    however, they didn't wear the "critical thinking" cap/hat ...
    one of them yesterday sent back prior success case, I found its insight, we'll work on it...

    Lesson learned for everyone else, you have to direct and guide and motivate them and take quick action!

    Cheers,

    Don
