Databased Marketing

Posted by paulus_ina on 125 Points

Hello......

Iam in the middle of organizing databased marketing . This base consist of former, current , and prospective customers.

But Iam not sure how to determine current customers .

Say, past customers classified as 2 years customers that need to reactivate.

Can we classify current customers are those customers stay with us less than 1 year.

Regards

Present customer is classified as the initial purchase the customer buys product, I believe. And directed to purchase more , if we have back-end products and cross selling purposes

I would focus on how long ago they last had an interaction with you... ie how long ago did they make a payment on a subscription or purchase any product from you. You'll need to designate and agree internally on how long it is before they become a "past customer"

After the person purchases your product, what happens? Do you have a regular system to stay in contact with them? Do you track not only sales, but also any communication the client made (tech support, for example)? Also, are the "former" clients truly former, or simply haven't purchased from you (why should they?) recently?

As Phil notes, it's all in the buying cycle. It's different for car sales than reams of paper.

    Nabia,

I just come up with an idea, that present customer is just now customer, in retail industry or car wash , at the momen t they finished purchasing the goods, the sales staff offers them other related product.

Or perhaps in a day or two we offer other products .Increase their value of transaction.
