Trade Show Presentation?

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
My company does several large trade shows in the medical industry every year. For the past 7 years or so we've held a theater presentation in our booth to convey information. The VPs are sick of the theater setup but I'm at a loss as far as how to present all the information they want to without doing the theater.

Any suggestions or past experiences that will help me figure out how to convey the information and interest attendees?

They are trade shows with thousands of attendees. We've used a theater setup (with seating) and a presenter giving a 4-6 minute presentation.

Having been to some large tradehows like you've described, I'm somewhat surprised that you're able to get participants to devote 4-6 minutes (longer probably considering start times and all) time to your booth. That may be where the VPs are coming from ... trying to get the message out to more people. On the other hand, as the other's suggest, if you're having good success reaching a large enough audience, then I douldn't change anything either.

On the other hand, if the concern is that the company wants to get to more of the show's participants, you might consider setting up a few large screen TV's in your booth and showing a "teaser" video clip of your longer presentation. Then, send those who are interested away with a customized DVD (https://www.bnoticed.com/ProductSearch/QSResults.aspx?Nr=LMSiteEligibility:...)containing the full presentation in a 4-6 minute video format. The down side is that some may take the DVD and not watch it, but you may still end up with a lot more participants seeing your 30 second pitch and still as many (or more) watching the DVD. You might offer webinars in addition/instead of the DVD if you require more of a participatory discussion.

    Good luck with your shows!
