Hispanic Market For Stock Car Races

Posted by Anonymous on 500 Points
I'm with a multi event facility in Wyoming. We host all types of events and are gearing up for our summer stock car races. We'd like to include one of the races as a celebration of the local Hispanic community. We have a local Spanish speaking station and can print our materials (posters, brochures, etc.) in Spanish. We're planning to work with the local station to have Hispanic music prior to the races, special food and beverages, etc. However, we're looking for other ideas to highlight the event, but are worried it might be exclusive of other populations rather than INCLUSIVE of the Hispanic community. Has anyone else done something similar or do you have any ideas on other things we can do on the special night?

Phil is absolutely right. Don't LIMIT your audience. Keep it as broad as you can. Just be sure you have some features that will look/feel "friendly" to your Hispanic patrons. They'll notice.

Can you create a bilingual race? You've got the food, advertising, and music covered. What about the announcers? Can you intersperse English/Spanish? Are you really trying to grow your Hispanic audience or rejoice in the Hispanic culture? If you're trying to grow, then first find out what would make the races more appealing to your audience. If you're trying to celebrate, then perhaps support some local Hispanic charities and highlight (co-market with) them.
