Effective Workshop Pricing

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am planning on doing a series of workshop on marketing and am wondering what to charge for them.

I would like to offer full days, lunch included with a take home workbook. Or half day sessions.

I am thinking 250.00 / participant for the full day and 100.00 for half day.

Minimum participants will be 12

does this seem reasonable?

It depends on who your primary target audience is, where you plan to hold the workshops, and exactly what benefit you're promising your prospective attendees.

If you're bringing in some recognized names with stellar reputations, then you can probably charge more. But if the presenters are unknown and the topics sound mundane, then you might not get many people at your proposed pricing.

Net: It depends on the benefit you're offering, not on the fact that it's a "marketing workshop." Push yourself to figure out exactly what's in it for a person to participate in the workshop. How will it benefit them? Why should they take their [valuable] time and spend it at your workshop? And be sure you are very clear on exactly who is in your target audience.

Also - what is your competition offering/charging? How much different/better are you? What's the networking value to those in attendance?
