    Nancy,

We offer a free, note-taking and study tool software for college students and middle/high school students and of course we have a website for it, for its download and support and all that, and we have a fan page to further market penetration.

Say, we have 400 fans since we just built the fan page recently, now, say, another company provide some sort of education related service, well, they are not really much ahead of us in terms of building fans, let's say about same stage we we for the fan page stuff, now, also have 300 to 400 fans, and we both wants to work together, then, they "export" their 300/400 fans to us and we return the same, now, each of us have 700/800 fans, and expand it to other partners... then what? we're really getting some serious steam!

    See what I'm saying?

Don, there is no tool on Facebook to export Fans from one Fan Page to another. Being a Fan is the choice of the individual, so that would not be something people would take kindly to.

What I would suggest is finding ways to co-promote for one another. You can manually share their updates on your Fan Page, and vice versa. This way, you are each getting attention from the other's Fans. If they are interested in what you have to say, they will become your Fans.

There are other ways you can draw attention to one another on Facebook by spending some time sharing messages, creating opt-ins for newsletters, sharing blog posts, etc.

You can also find other ways to co-promote...for example, host a teleseminar, webinar or some other event for your joint audiences. During these events, you will give your attendees all of your contact information, so you will pick up Fans that way as well.

You might also want to develop a newsletter, using an opt-in box on your blog, website, Fan Page and anywhere else you promote. This list will stay yours regardless of what happens to any social networking site. Even if Facebook went away tomorrow, you would have your own list that you could still talk to. The same goes for Twitter, LinkedIn or any other Social Networking site.

Good luck to you. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Nancy,

Thank you for your thoughts and insights. Yes, you're right, your approach is the organic approach vs. what I was proposing was more like "getting rich quick" thing, having said that, I may tweak the angle a bit to make it more appropriate if possible ... that is, to explore it a bit when I get a chance...

    Best,

    Dear Donli,

I've augmented my Facebook following by 607 percent in the last 90 days. How? By connecting, by reaching out to people and making it worth their while to connect with me.

It's all about establishing and NURTURING common ground.

Marketers (myself included) really, REALLY do need to get off their asses and WORK for and ON the relationships they want to build with people. I'd could have sat around on my hands but that would NOT have built my network.

NETWORK. It's an interesting word: it's called a "net" because its
threads interconnect; it's called "work" because that's what it takes
    to build it.

Find people with COMMON interests that connect with your page.
Connect with them. Invite them to join your group based on the
benefits of joining. Rinse and repeat.

    I hope this helps.

Gary, FABULOUS! Thank you, my style as well :)

Your dissection of NETWORK is superlative.

CONNECTION based on "COMMON interests", "common ground" is right ON.

Here the CHALLENGE is my target market is 12 to 23 year olds, were I their age, direct connection would be easy... how to solve the problem? One way is, to hire some of them to do my bid, the process is ongoing, finding truly Smart and Honest kids is quite difficult... I'll keep on looking...
    Another, their parents/professors/teachers...

You see, I'm looking for the closest Sphere of Influence... and my estimate of the effectiveness of reaching them...

And yes, lot of WORK... Review/measure, making changes/improvements. more Work, more Review/measure, hitting Critical Milestone, keep going...

Thanks again, btw, what's your fan page's URL? Your profile does not have it, oh, I tried tmblr as well, interesting.

    Don
