Yes. I mean No. Well depends on your business. If you share more, you'll get better answers. Just like sharing more in your brochures.

If the brochures offers a solution to the reader's problem at the right value, then yes. But you need to make your brochure have the right words/look for your prospective clients and you need to get the brochures in their hands.

What was your marketing plan when you made the decision to set up the business? Is it still the plan? If not, why did it change? If it is, then did it call for brochures? If so, then you should probably use brochures. If not, then you probably shouldn't.

Why not execute the plan you started with? (Surely you wouldn't have "ventured into business" without a [marketing] plan!)

It's OK to change your plan if there's a reason to. But if things are pretty much the same as when you laid out the plan, then there is really no reason to change it before you even begin to implement.

    Dear Big Money,

No. Despite your question being a "how long is a piece of string" type question, a brochure will only serve your business if it's getting into the right hands and in front of the right people when they have a need for your services or goods.

A brochure, as pretty as it might be, does NO heavy lifting and imparts NO personality. I suspect you'd be better off making a short video and distributing it through TubeMogul, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and as many forums as relate to your niche as you can connect with. Backed by a blog, this approach will give you visibility on Google, which may well be the main place your customers search for whatever it is you're selling.

    I hope this helps.

I will make sure that my brochures end up on the right hands (been trying to figure out how)..However, social networking sites could do good as well.
