New Junior Golf Tour Marketing Strategy

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hi! I am starting a new junior golf tour in my region, and I'm about ready to start the marketing/advertising phase. I'm trying to come up with some ideas about how to get the word out. So far I have created a website, as well as a facebook page. I won't launch the actual tour until 2011, but I need to get everyone informed during 2010, and I will also hold a fundraiser tournament in Fall 2010. Other than Facebook, I need to get the word out. The tour is for male and female junior golfers ages 12-19 (as long as they haven't started their first year of college). This is going to be a prestigious golf tour, so I want the marketing to be very professional. I'm working on designing flyers, etc, and I was thinking maybe bag stuffers at local golf shops, flyers to hang up in local golf courses, and flyers sent to local golf coaches and schools. There's got to be some other ideas.....any help? Also, we are just starting out, so a marketing budget is not very large at this moment! Thanks!

Who are you trying to get the word out to? Competitors? Sponsors? Attendees?
What's your goal for the tour? Helping out kids? Make money for yourself? Support a charity?

We need to know a lot more about your marketing/business goals to suggest appropriate strategies for you tour.
