Steak Restaurant Offering Something Different

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
What do you think of this idea?

With a lot of competition in the market, I believe one has to offer a unique concept in order to compete with the others. With a lot of restaurants offering steak, I thought of something unique, but would require more service and hard work on my part. What do you think of customers choosing the flavors for their steaks? They have the choice whether they want it hot and spicy, sweet or garlicky. This way, individual cravings may be satisfied.

Its all in how you market it-- call it your "signature" spices. In fact, you should be pushing toward many of your dishes be unique signature dishes, and market them as such. Shop your competitors (you can view their menus online) and see what everyone is doing -- find the void, and maybe your market would like that void filled.

But the meat lovers I know, know beef like a sommelier knows wine and have their favorite cut and opinion on aging-- and want their meat to stand alone without spices. But they may not be your target.

And don't just look at menus. Restaurants can make any occasion a special one. From ground hog day to the arrival of the first gamay beaujolais to the more obvious. Tap your vendors. Especially if you sell alcohol. They make $ when you make $, and have coop marketing dollars.
