Customer Follow Ups

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
With a convenience store, we have a comments and suggestions box where we ask our customers to leave their feedback on a product or our service. We would like to do more follow up with our customers regarding new products being offered by our store. We are thinking of doing an email campaign or just distribute fliers around the area. What do you think would be a better means to get customers to come back to our store and tell them we have something new to offer?

Ask them so sign up for your frequent club by providing your email address. Base the frequency club on a specific item-- like buy 6 coffees and the 7th is free.

"Something new" is vague and is unlikely to attract traffic. Be specific in what's new and be very specific why they should come in - a special deal on a certain night?

Have you taught your employees to recognize regulars? Nothing is better than engaging a regular customer...even at a convenience store.

I remember one year I put 35000+ miles on my car. I bought gas at the same place...almost daily. A simply "how's it going, where are you headed today" made a big difference.

If you are interested in email systems, there are a lot of companies that offer affordable mass emailing capabilities. The company I work for uses BenchmarkEmail.com, which can be as low as $19 a month.

It is hard to get accurate email lists, ecspecially from customers are convenience stores. Possibly try doing a big promotion with a giveaway or great discounts, and hand out flyers in the area. The promotion will be a great way to spread word of mouth, and its inexpensive!

Why don't you ask them to become a facebook fan? Then you can communicate weekly specials without any cost at all.

A lot of sites give incentives to become a fan. Run a drawing. One I am a fan of does weekly "fan of the week" drawings.

Those are truly very good suggestions. Fliers and discount coupons are in the making.

Inflatable balloons are nice for a product launch. Coordinating with our suppliers can be a good start.

    Thanks!

As your suppliers for any co-op dollars. That can really add to your marketing dollars!

we have a local convenience store with lots of loyal customers. People there are friendly and recognize regular customers. The store actively promotes community events, such as fundraisers. One simple thing which they did was to have a far side daily calendar positioned where customers could see it... I always enjoyed reading the comic, and it gave me something to talk about with the person behind the counter. Of course they had good coffee...
