To Hold A Global Or Regional User Conferences?

My company is planning its annual user conference and we are debating whether or not to hold one global conference in the US, or have one in the US and a separate one in Europe.

Does anyone have suggestions or recommendations based on experience? How is your company handling this?

    If you have equal number of customers, I would do 2 conferences. If it's just a small contingent in Europe, invite them here. Often they can plan other things around this visit.

    Why not have 2 smaller ones, but link them virtually, so attendees are invited to watch the other's presentations? Or, if you are planning to give the same speeches to both venues - why not make the conference entirely virtual - hold it online?
