    Dear mdonovan,

Simply read the bios of the people concerned and write each person
a note that focuses on one of their recent accomplishments or positive traits.

Offer congratulations, tell the person how much you admire their accomplishment, and tell them that you'd greatly appreciate the chance to connect with them.

    Then go gently from there.

Each note must be different and I'd avoid sending too many notes to
too many people at the same time if I were you. Spread your notes and contacts out over a seven to ten day period, otherwise you run the risk of sounding like a stalker.

    I hope this helps.

Have you researched the company thoroughly? Have you spoken with their customers? Have you mystery shopped for their product(s)?

When you have done your research and figured out what the company's most important issues are, then you need to understand how you can make an important contribution to addressing those issues.

When you have done all of that, THEN contact someone at the company and offer to share what you've learned and how you think you can help them.

Without that perspective, you're just begging for work.

Also - (in person) informational interviews. Find out what the company is really like. Do people love their jobs? Is the company "healthy"? Is the division you'd like to work for doing work that you find truly interesting?
