There is no "best way." It depends on where you are, what kind of printing you do, who your ideal customers are, how big a budget you have, and exactly what your objective is.

Are you trying to sell the print shop or are you trying to attract customers with print jobs? If the latter, why should they select you instead of one of the other printers in your area? What unique and important benefit do you offer them?

mgoodman is spot on with his questions. The printing industry has changed so much in the last few years. With digital press driving down the costs of printing and online printing companies offering production for unbelievable rates you have determine what sets you apart. What makes you unique and how can you leverage that.

Beyond the type of printing you do the variety of services you offer related to printing are important to leverage as well. Again with so many options; what sets you a part? Market that, target media that your ideal customer will see. Hence define your ideal client.

Feel free to share more about your business and its unique characteristics and maybe we point you in the direction of building a plan. Ask yourself the WHO, WHAT, WHEN, HOW and WHY of your product or service.

Honestly? Door to door. No fly-by-night printer goes door to door.

    Hi.. !!!

i think until and unless people (Target market) know that your shop is there or its one of the best option, how will anybody approach, so Use of Pamphlets will be more beneficial. by distributing it in Colleges, Tutorials and hostels target market will get to know that they have one more good option.

In second part i will agree to Mr. W.M.M.A. that why customer should come repeatedly. In that case you have to offer something different which must be unique.

    Dear shopinfo,

    Who is your ideal customer?

Once you tell us this you'll get more specificity to help you. If your main clients are people that need business stationery, market your services through your local chamber of trade (which is a good place to start anyway).

If your main clients are for special events (for instance, wedding invitations), consider working with wedding related businesses (caterers, florists, car rental) and offer reciprocal services (you promote the caterers, florists, and car rental people). This builds relationships and trust.

The more closely aligned your marketing message is
with the desired outcome of the person most likely to
buy your services, the higher the chances become of
that person buying from you. If this means creating multiple messages for multiple audiences then as an exercise, it's a worthwhile investment.

    I hope this helps.
