Marketing Medical Supplies(dme)

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I have been marketing medical supplies for about 7 months. And I'm having a very hard time. Since most patients don't buy equipment cash we market to doctors offices. My job is to get the doctor to send his/her patients to us when he/she writes a prescription for the patient. We are a new company, we've been open for a year. I've had some successes but can't seem to generate the referrals we need. I need advice on how to really get this going. My pocket is empty and I don't think I can do this much longer.

You need to figure out WHY someone should refer you, instead of a firm that's been there for a long time and has an established track record in the local medical community.

What you have is a fundamental issue: What makes you different from, and better than, the competition? When you have a good answer to that question, we can probably help you develop a good marketing strategy. Without that, my advice would be to find another job now, before you've invested any more time, effort and whatever money you have left.

Most businesses flounder without enough money to sustain them in the early times. You didn't say if this was your business or you're repping for someone else. That makes a difference when it comes to what you can do.

What you DO have is time. How many people did you talk to today? In addition to the excellent advice above you need to talk to more people than your competition. More people, more often. Works everytime it's tried.
