Company Anniversary-internal Promotion Strategies?

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
I am looking for some Internal contest ideas (online) for my company’s 40th year anniversary that would promote Team building, Quality and fun but keep the underlying message of quality and customer satisfaction?

We have a small office in India, UK, US and Latin America so these contests would need to include them.

I was thinking along the lines of a questionnaire outlining questions about the area each office is in. “did you know type questions, or trivia based questions. I think this would help people in other office feel more aware of the other offices and learn something at the same time.

Any other ideas?

How will you know you've achieved your anniversary's goals? If you're trying to promote team building, why not have each small office create a part of the contest using information they're expert in: their location, their specialties, their hobbies, etc. To answer the questions, teams will have to communicate with other offices to find the answers. You can also add additional questions that only corporate office would know, or would require going through company history to answer, etc.

Jay's point is very good. What will make you determine whether or not you were successful? For team-building, you may want to force the different international offices to work together to participate. I've found that it's much easier working with people in a different country once I've had some kind of informal interaction with them - so this might help them get that kind of interaction. You could do something like a phone or video phone scavenger hunt, where they have to talk to certain people in other offices to complete the contest.

For customer satisfaction, perhaps you could have employees submit stories about times they went "above and beyond" for a customer - and maybe award prizes for great stories.
