Help With A Guest Blog Request

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
My boss, the primary blogger at her small company, asked me to craft an email for her to send to some targeted companies/organizations in our industry requesting that she be featured as a guest blogger on their blog. Does anyone have any advice as to what I should include in this email? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would be very careful about doing that.

There are strategies for reaching out to bloggers as they are influencers.

    A few include:

Read the blog's policy on guest contributions. Or at least study how in the past they've featured contributing writers, in they in fact do.

Your boss should build relationships with the bloggers gently first - i.e. commenting on their blog posts from time to time.

Some bloggers get overwhelmed with requests and simply shooting an email request may result in getting blacklisted or worse, getting outed by the blogger for being a spammer.

I cover some other effective strategies in The Social Media Road Trip Workshop.

    Good luck.

    Audacious to say the least.

I would be safer to send an email asking them to view her blog. If they like it, they can ask.

Other option is to invite THEM to be a guest blogger. They'll reveiw hers and decided if it's helpful. If it is, there's a chance they'll reciprocate.
