Facebook Notes Vs. Status Updates

Are there any benefits to posting Facebook notes vs. status updates? Perhaps SEO benefits, reach benefits, archive, etc.?

Hi Kyle,

the only real benefit is that you can say more in a note. Think of notes as a blog post. At the moment, there is no SEO benefit. Search Engines don't index Facebook notes or status updates due to Facebook terms of service. I guess the question to you would be, what would you use notes for?

Thanks Patti - We all get wordy sometimes and I wanted to find a way to post things that exceed the character limit of a status update. After your response and others on Quora, I think the best bet is to post longer content as a blog post and link from Facebook. I haven't heard anyone communicate the value of a Facebook Note over a blog post.
