Situation Analysis Questionnaires

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am currently performing a situation analysis about our communication channels and how well are we using digital media now at our school. I am at the analysis stage, and would like to know if you have some helpful samples of questionnaires, tips, anything that can help to prepare a good survey questionnaire for our different constituencies, these being current parents, prospective parents, staff, Governors, Alumni, pupils, and friends of the school.
Thank you

Start by being very clear about the objective of the research, what exactly you're trying to learn/measure, and what action you're going to take based on what you learn.

This is where most research gets messed up, or compromised. If you don't know what you're trying to learn and what you're going to do with it, the questionnaire doesn't matter.

When you do understand these things, it will be relatively easy to design a good questionnaire that will give you what you want.

So in your case, "how well are we using digital media now ..." needs to be defined clearly, and you will need to understand what you can/will do differently based on results of the research. If you don't know that, then it's almost impossible to design a great questionnaire -- with or without our help.
