    here are the basics:

I assume that you have a Facebook account, so let’s get to creating the fan page.

    1. In your facebook account, click Ads and Pages. If you don’t see the option, click More, and it should be there. If it’s still not there, you can click this direct link to Create a Facebook Fan Page.
    2. Choose what type of page you’re creating – Local Business, Company, Brand or Product, Artist, Entertainment or Cause and fill in the appropriate details.
    3. Once you’ve accepted Facebook’s terms of service and clicked the Get Started button, your page is created!

Now, you’ll need to eventually upload your page profile picture
(maximum of 180 x 540 pixels in size) and edit your basic info, and write something on your wall ..

You will have to create the fanpage from your personal account. Then your personal acct will be linked to the FB fanpage for the nonprofit and in order to login to the fanpage you will have to login to your own acct. This is sometimes confusing at first. Don't worry, the accts are kept separate so if you post on your personal page, it won't post on the fanpage.

I recommend that as soon as you set up the page, invite others to help adminstrate the page so that the organization decreases its chances of ever losing access to the page ... say if you were to leave suddenly without telling them how to access the page (not that you would at all, just an example).

    Good luck.
