Real Estate Joining A Team

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I wanted to ask for advice on creating a Real Estate Team with my coworker. We both work well together at work and away from work.

I just didn't know the best way to market? Do we combine everything we send out? or do we send out everything individual?

What is the best commission split? How do we know how to do things fairly?

It's up to the two of you. It should be whatever you're both comfortable with.

That said, there's something to be said for splitting everything 50/50. That makes you a true team. Nobody is taking advantage of anyone else. You present yourself as a single entity with two people accepting and sharing responsibility for delivering results.

Of course, that also means you have to trust each other and accept individual responsibility among yourselves. And when you disagree on something, you have to figure out how you're going to resolve differences ... since there's no boss to "cut the baby in half."

On pages 62-63 of The Potato Chip Difference I discuss how I've handled the 50/50 partnership issue in my consulting business. We've actually turned that dilemma into a strong benefit for our clients. (The book is available through major booksellers in the US, Amazon.com, or https://bit.ly/9Zq3jh .)
