It Recruiting/client Development

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I have been using Morgan methodology for the past few years for permanent placement in the financial field. I am switching back to IT -temporary and permanent placements. Here are my three questions:
1.) Is temporary staffing any different than permanent?
2.) Do I need to go see clients, or is it attainable to work a desk?
3.) How do you go about finding clients?

Would love to hear your thoughts, and thanks in advance

You get clients through sales processes. Get out and meet potential clients and make sure they know who you are and what you do. Follow some of the guidelines talked about in the last question (referrals, testimonials, etc.). So along with answering question #3, that pretty much means you will need to get out from behind your desk (your question #2).

Know what is appropriate for your client and market. Who do you work for - the hiring company or the prospective employee? Some of the markets only want the recruiters they hired to provide prospects, where others will accept resumes from outside recruiters (and some don't want to work with recruiters at all).

I'm switching from the Financial field back to IT, learned and succeeded with the Morgan methodology. I'd like to know where to find these prospective clients...My thought are through candidates' past jobs, recent interviews, their references, and flipping a recruiting call to a CIO. Any thoughts/input will be greatly appreciated
