Howto Transfer A Fb Account From Former Biz Owner?

Posted by lindy_lou4 on 500 Points
I have just purchased a business & have inherited their Facebook account. I would like to change pretty much everything about it (image, content, tone etc.), however I'm not ready just yet (new logo not yet ready, new website not yet up etc.). There are currently 48 friends - a small number, but I don't want to lose them.

How do I transfer ownership & access from the previous owner, to myself?

I also want to change the name of the group - can I do this without losing the friend base?

Finally, any best practices in terms of transferring from old to new?

Thanks in advance,

Have the previous FB business page owner add you as an admin (you'll have to like their business page, if you haven't already). Once you're the admin of the page, remove the former FB page owner as admin.

I believe once you've named a FB page, it can't be changed.

    Belinda,

Jay is correct on both accounts.

While you are working on building up "friends" on facebook, you might consider running an ad or two on facebook. While most people tend to spend their advertising money on google adwords, many have realized the benefits from the low-cost ads on facebook. Facebook ads are considered undervalued meaning they offer a high benefit to cost ratio.

    I hope this helps,
