Needed: Marketing/media Campaign For Book Launch

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am based in Nigeria and have a new book being published in a few weeks. The book, a secondary school french textbook (with learning CDs inclusive) is targeted towards secondary schools in the west-african sub-region.

It is a textbook book on the french language and covers the essentials and rudiments of the language from the beginning. The research I have done over the last few years has shown that most students in the anglophone countries have challenges in pronunciation, hence the production of the accompanying learning CDs for easy instruction.
Kindly advise, what kind of marketing/media roll-out campaign strategies would be required to launch the books into the market.

Kind regards

Are you hoping to sell the book to students, parents, or schools? Can you prove that your approach is better or is it simply based on "your research"? Can you provide a free online sample of your book/audio to give people a sense of what you offer?

I'm not sure how textbook sales are handled in Africa. If you were in the US, you would have a political battle with the entrenched publishers who have close and lucrative relationships with the elected officials who designate which books will be used in their school systems. If you want to circumvent these relationships, consider creating a multi-media website or SmartPhone App that delivers some of the content directly to the student for free with an upsell to the complete version.
