I would need to know what kind of printing you do to go beyond the general steps from Phil.

First - a set of definitions. I generally consider sales to be the activities you work one on with with a potential customer to get a sale. Marketing is where you are doing activities that appeal to many customers at once. Your title says you are doing both.

Your goal is to bring in business. This is both keeping existing customers and getting new customers. The sales side should be pretty clear - you have contacts and a way of working with them 9whther it is making outside sales call, on the internet, etc.). Because you have been in business, the processes here should be set, or at most could use some minor adjusting.

The marketing side may or may not have bee done. Could be advertising, could be just having the right sales literature/samples packs that the folks in sales need, etc. You need to think about how much business you want and how to get it. That varies by market, what you are doing, etc., so not something I can provide much more comment on without a lot more info.

Our company does all kinds of printing, specializing in offset and digital printing. Because my boss is taking over the business from his father, he hopes to change the entire work flow system and do away with all the traditional ways of managing the business. So I am supposed to assist him in doing so, coming up with new ideas, etc. to grow our client database.
