How To Target Your Market On Social Media

Posted by worcestergeary on 250 Points
So I'm kind of new to marketing, but am very familiar with social media. The problem that i have been having is that it seems like my message is going unnoticed. The company i work for is a mobile web/app and software development company. I blog daily, post on facebook, twitter and linked in but havent seemed to get any attention. i have 300 followers on twitter and 60 some odd friends on facebook. I'm not sure what im doing wrong. I want to direct my messages to a particular group but im not really sure how to do that. My company is trying a non invasive inbound marketing strategy, so i cant really DM someone on twitter or Facebook. Im kind of out of options. I want to do soemthing to get noticed by the masses. We ahve a great product and a decent portfolio of work i jsut need to get it out there. Any suggestions would help.

Start answering questions and seeing how you can be helpful to the folks who might someday become your customers. Don't push your solution. Just try to understand the needs and be helpful.

If you do this well, the investment will pay off. If you're too eager to push what you have at people, you'll continue to get the kind of results you've been getting.

The objective shouldn't be to mention your company name as often as possible. It should be to become known as a person who is knowledgeable and helpful for folks with the kinds of problems your company understands. If you do that, you'll see how your social media results pick up in short order.

P.S. More important than the number of followers is the quality of those followers. (Quality, not quantity.) Are they following you because they know you have a good grasp on their problems, or are they just watching to see how long you can keep this up?

Unless what you're offering your prospective clients is the ultimate answer to their #1 problem, then you need to first confirm that you're solving the right problem for your target market, that you clearly have a dramatically better solution, and that they can trust your company. Only then can you start to get more interest in your offering.

Hi, I'm sorry I didn't post more information. I was on my phone and the question had been bugging me and I wanted to get it off my chest. I have been sharing on all the social networks and groups with ijn networks. I've been tying to hit certain hashtags on twitter...I've only been doing it for 3 weeks but I think I'm just looking for faster results when I know it is a process and takes time. I use triberr to add reach n twitter for myblogs but it could just be my cointent is too broad or that isn't interesting enough.
