Marketing & Sales Strategy Fr Tea Packet

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I m cming up with Tea Packet . The initial market of distribution would be the rural areas of Bihar and Bengal belt. Already there r many players doing very well in the Tea Packet Industry. So my prdt to the target audience would not be a new one. As the other packeters offer tea, I would also be doing the same. And when the question of commodity comes into mind, people don’t give it a lot of importance.
So basically my problem is that with the same product in hand like other packeters, how can I stand apart from other packeters. Although I can guarantee about the quality which would be far better than the other tea packeters. Normally the sales promotion/ marketing techniques used by the local picketers is
• Either in the form of scratch coupons having maximum of 250 rs to be redeemed
• Secondly by inserting some utensils inside the packet which will be used while tea preparation.
• Thirdly by giving extra tea packet for every 30 Kg of tea sold.
So I need some suggestion of how to go out of the box in promoting my product in such manner which will have a great impact among the consumers. They should come to know about the new tea brand and start consuming the tea from my tea packet.
So basically I need a very good marketing and sales promotion strategy for the rural areas

If the success of your business depends on the marketing and promotion of your product, you need to hire a consultant who is familiar with the market and have him/her develop a complete marketing plan. Trying to do it yourself, even with our help, is likely to cost you more in the end ... and probably yield sub-standard results.

As you are undoubtedly aware, launching a new brand is not easy. And unless you've done it before, the odds are stacked against you.

Do yourself a big favor and get professional help. If you think this approach will be too expensive, wait until you see how much it will cost to do it on your own!

Offer a contest for people who send you empty tea packets. For example, if you had a place on the packet for the person's contact information, you could put all the packets you receive into a large drum and pick a winner each month. The remaining tea packets (each month) you could craft into artwork or recycle, etc.

look lets analyze the strategy of your opponent:

1] Either in the form of scratch coupons having maximum of 250 rs to be redeemed

well money is a good option but with the decline of money value, i don't think money could satisfy people anymore

2] Secondly by inserting some utensils inside the packet which will be used while tea preparation

they may already have the utensils. yours will just increase their burden.

3] Thirdly by giving extra tea packet for every 30 Kg of tea sold.

will an individual buy 30 kg of tea?

all the strategies used by your competitors are not solving the problem of people. lets try this:

give a package of sugar free with tea. now sugar is a valuable thing to prepare tea. if you don't give it, people will have to buy it. just help them a little. sugar also is needed for preparation of things other than tea. so it will be like killing 2 birds at one go.

Have an art contest to design the packets. Advertise it heavily and give good prizes. Choose many winners (50 or more) and feature their artwork on the packets randomly. Each box of tea will feature as many pieces of artwork as there are packets. The artists and their family and friends will create the buzz by talking it up and pass the word on to everyone they know.

A subsequent ad campaign can feature the artists as they discuss how the tea inspired them to make the artwork.

If it goes over well, make it a yearly contest.

    Good luck!
