How To Find Companies That Use Specific Software?

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am trying to find a company that will sell a list of contacts for companies that use specific software. I know that this is something that I will have to pay for - I am just having a difficult time finding companies that have this type of information. For example, the company that I work for specializes in Sterling Integrator and Gentran implementations and so I am trying to find companies that use this type of software.

Any advice would be appreciated, I need some help with my researching skills!

Thanks,
Kelly

IT Jungle is media that generates content and advertising for your segment. They would have a database of contacts/companies. They might rent (sometimes one time only) their database for marketing purposes or you could place a display ad in this publication.

You can google for "sterling integrator advertising" to find more opportunities. Or you can hire a media pro who can compile a list for you. Who knows, you could get lucky and find a list already exists, in trade organization, IBM partners?

you may need to do some work yourself. There are several ways that you can build such lists, but they are disguised as hard work.

    For example,

    - You can search, job boards such as www.monster.com to find companies who are trying to hire people who have experience with the software.

    - , You can look for online discussion groups related to the software.

    - You can identify user group meetings for the software (if any) and register at the hotel during a meeting, hanging out in the bar in the evening with a healthy expense account.

    - You can set up Google alerts on the name of the software

    - After you have identified a few of the companies, you can do searches on various combinations of their names, and hope you get lucky (you might potentially find a list of users for a list of conference attendees, which someone carelessly left on the Internet).

    - , You can create content and post articles related to specific questions and topics relevant to the software
