Need A Suggestion On Brand Category.

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hi guys. We really need some help here.
We recently launched a new glass cleaner called Powglass on www.powglass.com
Our category is The High Definition Glass Cleaner. Our intention was to send a message that this is a glass cleaner that cleans glass and electronics in high definition (crystal clear). Instead we are finding out that the majority of people think this is strictly electronics cleaner because they see High Definition word in it and don't associate HD with crystal clear. Any suggestions on how we can make this work? We thought of two examples:
The High Definition Glass and Electronics Cleaner or
The High Definition Window and Electronic Cleaner

is this confusing in any ways? we tend to get very mixed reviews.
Our goal: this is a glass cleaner that can also clean electronics (maybe we should completely eliminate HD)
Thank you all!

Your closing comment of " ..completely eliminate HD" would be a wise decision. "High Definition" is not the glass itself, it's what's behind the glass like a LCD display. I think something like "High Clarity Glass Cleaner" better describes your intended brand messaging.

Your product and website have serious issues that need your express and immediate attention. On more points than I care to count you are advised to cease all trading and to void all sales with immediate effect.

    Hi Gary,

Can you a bit more specific. Thank you.

I've reviewed this site in considerable detail.

    My recommendations are as follows:

Any use of the terms "high definition", "aerosol", "all natural" and "self cleaning action" (to name just four) may be construed as being potentially misleading.

The self cleaning action of what, exactly?

The patent owner is strongly cautioned to significantly revise the assertion that the product is safe enough to drink.

There is significant contradiction between this statement and the MSDS information on the site (in which it is stated that the product is not to be ingested). This portion of the site alone gives significant cause for concern.

There are other, assorted inconsistencies between the product's MSDS information and the site's sales messages. Here, there is reason to believe the presentation and representation of the product is in potential violation of OSHA and EPA codes.

In the event of accidental consumer mishandling of the product based on express onsite claims, the product manufacturers potentially put consumers at risk of serious bodily harm. It is recommended that the product manufacturers and its sales agents take immediate steps to correct this information.

The information placed on this website as sales material MUST support all safety codes—state and Federal. To do otherwise is inadvisable.

The assertion that the product is "Trusted and used by Hollywood celebrities", offers no endorsement by name. This is statement is misleading.

The main website description tag misspells the word "cleaner" (it reads: "PowGlass® | Natural Glass Claener and Electronics Cleaner in (LINK) Unlike most glass cleaners that just clean, PowGlass® POWER cleans your glass . Infused with natural agents called phytoncides (fi-ton-side-s), PowGlass is ..."

The phrase "unlike most glass cleaners that just clean POW Glass, cleans your glass" is vague.

The use of half a "Certified Green" logo, which in this case is the logo of the Certified Green Commercial Kitchen™ affords little credibility and raises concerns about the relevance to the product's efficacy in relation to commercial kitchen use.

The website's "Contact" page will benefit from the addition of a street address, an 800 telephone number, and an e-mail address.

Consumers are informed that the product is "As seen on TV", yet consumers are not told which television network is being referred to. It is advisable to back this claim up with actual examples or that the statement be removed.

The play button of the video renders a white box and the word "Null". It is advisable to remedy this action.

It is also advisable to correct the typographic errors and the statements on the site that are potentially misleading. Inaccurate statements do not instill buyer confidence.

It is advisable that the product not be released for sale.
And that all sales be halted, and that all distribution cease until these issues have either been reviewed or corrected.

It is my recommendation that the patent owner temporarily close this site and that the hiring of a direct response copywriter be undertaken without delay.

It is also suggested that if the author of the product on Amazon.com (Vladimir P. Saveliev) is in any way related to the product that this review be pulled.

According to public records, a U.S. federal trademark registration was filed for POWGLASS by "Saveliev, Irina V". If Vladimir P. Saveliev is a direct relation, or if he is connected to the manufacture and marketing of the product, this review may be construed as being in violation of Amazon's TOS on product stakeholders or agents writing reviews for their own products.

If Vladimir P. Saveliev has no material association with the product the review may remain on view. However, if this individual is connected with the product, this kind of approach impacts the product's credibility as an advertiser on the Amazon network and detracts from the Amazon brand.

If this individual is associated with and numerated by connections with the product, the reviewer may also be in direct violation of current FTC code on material connections and affiliate compensation. The result here may be ejection from the Amazon network and/or investigated by the FTC. Possibly both.

PLEASE NOTE: The candid nature of this response is intended to save the product marketers, patent owners, and product creators from possible legal action in the event of misuse of the product as a direct result of consumer ambiguity from an inability to comprehend the sales material.

This review is also intended to reduce the possibility of possible criminal inditement and for the same reasons. Similarly with regard to the possibility of civil action.

That said, PLEASE NOTE: I am NOT a lawyer or a
chemist and this advice is NOT intended as either legal
or chemical advice—merely, as one marketer to another.

There are issues with the sales material that give serious cause for concern. Failure to attend to these issues may result in legal action from a party or parties unknown.

Therefore, and with the greatest respect, the manufacturers, patent owners, marketers, and distributors of this product, and WITH THE UTMOST URGENCY ... are STRONGLY ADVISED to CEASE all sales IMMEDIATELY and to seek INDEPENDENT AND ACCREDITED legal, chemical, and marketing advice for the product and the contents of the website.
