E-vite For Client Party

Posted by Marita on 500 Points
I work for a large engineering firm and we are in the process of planning our annual client party, which is a big event. We have over 1200 guests and the attendance is very high as it is considered to be "the industry" get together party. This is a new marketing position for me and I am familiarizing myself with all the in-house processes. The person before me used MailChimp for the e-vites and I am not familiar at all with this program and need to learn it in a hurry. Do you think this program is the best way to go? Is there any "user-friendly" book that I can absorve and learn it quickly. Do you have any suggestions?

MailChimp is fairly straightforward contact manager software, and since your company has used in in the past (and it worked), then it's a good reason to keep using the tool. There's a PDF you can download (https://mailchimp.com/guides/Getting-Started-With-MailChimp.zip) and a lot of other publications in their free online library: https://mailchimp.com/resources/guides/getting-started-with-mailchimp/

Stick with what has worked. MailChimp should be just fine for your purposes, your company has a history with it, and anything you switch to will require familiarization too.

As Jay notes, MailChimp has several publications that will help you get started. Just dig in and learn it fast. (I can't imagine it would take more than a few hours to learn what you need to know. If I'm wrong, then it could take a day. Certainly no more.)

There's nothing wrong with MailChimp: it's a good, solid, dependable service. Need to learn more about it? Use the training on the main MailChimp site and take time to review some of the training videos on YouTube.

You don't need to know it all—just enough to get by, OR, you just need to know that little bit more than the other guy.
