What Is The Correct Protocol For Webinars?

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
My company is hosting a webinar in November. We have 3 speakers who have pre recorded their presentations. Some of my staff wants to edit out all of the "ums, uhs" and any stutters. Another half of my staff thinks that this will sound too unnatural. What's the norm for webinars in a situation like this?

Firstly, it is a matter of taste. Sometimes the ums and ahs really do add something - and sometimes they don't.

Okay, so this ain't an answer, is it?

My question to you is will you be sending this webinar out more than once? (You could have it on demand as a repeat webinar as an email service for example). Point being you can track results from them as they are presented.

That way you can have one webinar with all the ums, ers and coughs - and one without. Perhaps one with a few but not all?

With some split testing the issue should be pretty clear within a few showings and you can find out whether your customers don't mind it, tolerate it or abhor them.

You might even learn something about your audience in doing so!

    To your success, Gemma xx
