White Paper Authors

What is the best practice when an author of a white paper is no longer with the company? Can we just replace their name with the new person's? Or, if the author truly wrote the content, should we keep them listed?

Who owns the content of the white paper? What was your agreement with them?
In general, you want to make the white paper as truthful as possible - so yes, keep the name of the old person (but make sure that their title is clearly stated).

I would keep the name on the whitepaper. Make sure that the fact that the author no longer works with the company is clearly stated in their biography.

After all, they wrote it, not the new person. When they have time, get them to write a new one!

Thanks! I found out marketing owns the content, and marketing actually authored the white papers.
